- DARPA-BAA-13-28 (TERN) TERN Ship Integration Challenges TERN Program Summary TERN is an advanced technology program to design, develop, and demonstrate a medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aircraft (UAV) and related technologies to enable future launch, recovery, and operations from small ships. The objectives of TERN Phase I are to conduct conceptual design trade studies for an operational TERN design and derive a demonstration system design and technology maturation plan to achieve flight demonstration of critical technologies and system capabilities in 2017. See the attached Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the full text of the solicitation. Materials presented at the TERN Proposers' Day held on March 20, 2013 are also provided with the solicitation. In the event of any inconsistencies between the Proposers' Day materials and the BAA, the BAA shall take precedence.
