Description
Contracting Office Address NASA/John F. Kennedy Space Center, Procurement, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899 Description NASA/John F. Kennedy Space Center plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for NNK13467822R Replace Air Handling Units, Space Station Processing Facility Bid Package #1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE NECESSARY RESOURCES TO: NASA/KSC intends to release a solicitation for the Replacements of Air Handling Units (AHU)s on or about April 11, 2013. The primary work to be performed under this project consists of replacing indoor air handling units (AHUs) and dedicated outdoor air units with new custom fabricated fan-wall style including all associated mechanical (piping and ductwork), electrical, and controls work in the KSC Space Station Processing Facility (SSPF). All equipment will be installed at KSC Building M7-360 (Space Station Processing Facility [SSPF]). New fan-wall air handling units will replace existing units, requiring careful selective demolition and installation in phases to ensure no interruptions of air to serviced areas. Units will service a 100K clean room area and special care shall be taken during delivery, storage and tie-in of new units to minimize particulate contamination. Air handlers will be required to be purchased and delivered onsite by August 1, 2013. Controls work requires tying into an existing Andover control network. Fire work requires minor modification of affected heads, selective removal and reinstalling of existing duct smoke detectors, and localized testing of affected components. Facility will be fully occupied while work is to be completed. All work requiring outages will be scheduled and coordinated through the Utility Outage Requests and Connections Request system at the convenience of NASA. This is the second of three similarly scoped and sized projects to be released in subsequent years. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238220 with a small business size standard of $14,000,000. The contract effort for this RFP will include the following: Basic Contract - Replace Air Handling Units, Space Station Processing Facility Bid Package #1. The Performance Period including all tasks shall be completed in 210 calendar days after notice to proceed. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 36.204, Disclosure of the Magnitude of Construction Projects, the estimated price range is as follows: The total estimated cost of this project is in the estimated construction contract price range of between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Specifications, Drawings and Special Conditions will be made available for download through the posted solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note 'B'. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement shall be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
