- The following work will be performed at the Carl B. Stokes U.S. Courthouse, 801 W. Superior Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44113. This project is for a Firm-Fixed-Price type contract. This procurement will be solicited on a full and open unrestricted basis. The work of this project is defined by the Contract Documents. The project includes, but is not limited to the following: Provide "Elevator Hoistway Improvements" at the Carl B. Stokes U.S. Courthouse, 801 W. Superior Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44113. This project includes, but is not limited to, safety improvements at all elevator pits, manage water infiltration to eliminate wet pit floors and restore rusted pit equipment. The provider/offeror will provide trench drain to direct water to existing sump pumps, modify pit ladders to brace the top of the ladders, provide new 3-way light switches and replace pit lighting, and patch pit floor to eliminate existing rough trench and sump. Additionally, the provider/offeror will waterproof the outside of the CMU pit walls between the floor slab and the mat foundation. Waterproofing work includes removal and replacement of concrete floor slab and earthwork. The provider/offeror is to clean and paint all pit equipment and clean elevator pit. The magnitude of this construction project (per Federal Acquisition Regulation, 36.204 Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects) is estimated between $250,000 and $500,000. The RFP solicitation is anticipated to be issued on or about April 12, 2013. Offers will be due on or about May 12, 2013 (the actual date of receipt for proposals will be stated on the solicitation). No public bid opening procedures are applicable for this solicitation. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this project is 236220 with a size standard of $33.5 million. Large businesses proposing under this unrestricted procurement may be required to submit a subcontracting plan, please consult RFP documents. The solicitation cited above can only be obtained by accessing a secure website known as FedBizOpps. FedBizOpps is a secure website designed to safeguard sensitive but unclassified (SBU) acquisition information. It is fully integrated with other electronic government initiatives such as the System for Award Management (SAM) database, and is available for use by all Federal agencies. In order to obtain information from FedBizOpps, you will first be required to register with SAM. The System for Award Management (SAM) database is a part of the Business Partner Network, an e-gov initiative, and will be used to validate vendor identity. Offerors MUST be registered within the SAM database in order to receive an award for this procurement. The website for SAM is https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/. SAM is a Federal Government owned and operated free web site that consolidates the capabilities in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR)/FedReg, and Online Representation and Certifications Application (ORCA). Future phases of SAM will add the capabilities of other systems used in Federal procurement and awards processes. Offerors are required to use the SAM database for Representation and Certification submissions under this solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. No federal materials can be downloaded until you have registered under both sites.
