- Description
- CDDB Medicinal Chemistry Facility Solicitation Synopsis: This is a Research and Development (R&D) Request for Proposals (RFP). Background and Program Objectives: The Contraceptive Discovery and Development Branch (CDDB) of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), National Institutes of Health (NIH) seeks interested and qualified sources to operate and maintain a Medicinal Chemistry Facility (MCF) capable of synthesizing anti-fertility agents. The Medicinal Chemistry Facility shall furnish all of the necessary services, qualified personnel, material, instrumentation, facilities and capabilities to discover, design, synthesize and optimize novel non-steroidal and non-hormonal chemical compounds as ant-fertility agents. This program will be limited to discovery and optimization of anti-fertility agents for protein targets unique to male or female reproductive system effecting fertility. It is expected that integrated structure based drug design/discovery and optimization encompassing screening, structure biology, modeling and synthesis is anticipated to play a major role in these projects. Additionally, it is expected that the offeror will work on projects from other investigators in the CDDB's research network. The projects will entail working on contraceptive targets where the resources of this facility will be used for design, discovery and optimization of antifertility agents. In such case, the successful contractor will collaborate with other investigators in the CDDB research program in order to make progress toward the development of safe and effective male and female contraceptive drugs. Under this solicitation, the Government anticipates award of one cost reimbursement contract, with a base of one year and approximately four option years. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Agency. Disclaimer and Important Notes: This RFP does not obligate the Government to award a contract pursuant to this announcement. The offeror is responsible for monitoring the FedBizOpps Web page for the release of any amendments.
