- Description
- The purpose of this task order is to obtain technical professional services to promote Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other forms of Health Information Technology (HIT) included in the HITECH Act. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) HITECH initiative will promote Health IT and specifically the EHR incentive program to individuals and organizations who are eligible for the programs (hospitals, Medicare eligible professionals, Medicaid eligible professionals and Medicare Advantage organizations), as well as to states, state and local elected and appointed officials, and legislative and state technology bodies. The goals of the outreach include supporting the adoption and meaningful use of the health IT available through new technologies, such as electronic health records and state health information exchanges (HIE); and supporting participation in the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs to ultimately improve patient outcomes, quality, efficiency and transparency of health care. The research projects initiated under this task order shall also support CMS's communication campaign to promote the use of CMS information channels by providers, states, beneficiaries, health care influencers/information intermediaries such as partners, stakeholders, and those who implement our programs. The campaign will also make accurate information about the EHR incentive program available through CMS channels, such as products, website, etc. In addition, CMS will help promote the adoption of EHRs and other HIT by the provider community through states, state and local elected and appointed officials, and Medicare beneficiaries. The purpose of Modification 000001 is to: Obligate additional funding to add a fourth audience to the SOW - Practice Managers.
