Description
Training for Telemetry Surgery Techniques I. BACKGROUND. The US Army Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) is a world-class organization and clear leader in medical research. USAMRICD requires the use of a private company to provide training for new telemetry equipment purchased from Data Sciences International (DSI). The place of performance will be at USAMRICD, building E3081, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. II. SCOPE OF WORK. USAMRICD seeks training in surgical techniques for the implantation of telemetry transmitters at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The objective is to learn proper surgery techniques. The Government reserves the right to inspect the contractor's work to verify the performance and to ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local regulations, laws, and ordinances. III. SPECIFIC TASKS. The contractor shall provide a total of 1 day of in-house training on the surgical techniques for implanting telemetry transmitters (model # TL11M3-D70-PCTR) in minipigs. IV. DELIVERABLES AND REPORTS. The contractor will provide a detailed written description of the surgical techniques used for implanting the telemetry transmitter suitable for IACUC approval. V. DELIVERABLE DUE DATES. The contractor-provided detailed written description of the surgical techniques used for implanting the telemetry transmitter suitable for IACUC approval will be due when the required training is performed. VI. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE. The period of performance is to be no later than 27 September 2013. VII. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY, DATA, AND/OR INFORMATION. Gottingen minipig for surgical training and the DSI telemetry equipment that will be used with the Gottingen minipig. VIII. TRAVEL. Travel will be required for the contractor-provided training. Training will be held at USAMRICD, Bldg 3081, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. IX. POINT OF CONTACT. To be determined
