Description
AREA MAP FOR PALOUSE MACHINE PILINGS ABES 27 UNIT MAP ABES 43 UNIT MAP GOLD BUG UNIT MAP ABES ANIMALS 27 It is the objective of this contract to obtain high quality services to ensure adequate fuel reduction of the hazardous fuels generated through logging activities in Abes Animals unit 27. Unit 27 was harvested with a commercial thinning silvicultural prescription. Areas to be treated are machine corridors identified by the Forest Service by flagging and staking methods. Fuel loading may be reduced through the removal of the material from the sites for utilization or through the creation of machine piles on-site, which would then be treated by the Forest Service to complete fuel reduction. The Forest Service prefers to have as much material as possible removed from the site. ABES ANIMALS 43 It is the objective of this contract to obtain high quality services to ensure adequate fuel reduction and achieve site preparation of the regeneration unit that will be planted after site preparation is complete. Place of Performance
Address: ABES ANIMALS 27, The project consists of reducing fuels generated through harvest activities on Unit 27 of the Abes Animals Timber Sale. The project area is on the Palouse Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Project site is located on forest road 3321 North and East of the community of Bovill. Drive North from Bovill on state highway 3 for 3.5 miles and turn left onto Forest Road 377. Drive West on FR 377 for 1 mile and turn left onto FR 3321. FR 3321 is a gated road and is locked year round, a key will need to be checked out in order to gain access by vehicle to the work site. Drive south and west on FR 3321 for 2.25 miles to the east edge of the project area. To access the western edge of unit 27 continue for 1.25 miles turn right onto FR 3321M drive for ¼ mile to the south west boundary of unit 27. FR 3321M continues another ½ mile along the western boundary of unit 27 where the road dead ends and the unit continues., Item 1.1 (unit 27) is a 196 acre commercial thinning unit that was harvested with ground based logging systems. Of the 196 acres of Unit 27, 60 acres of machine trails have been identified for hazardous fuels reduction., ABES ANIMALS 43, The project consists of reducing fuels generated through harvest activities on Unit 43 of the Abes Animals Timber Sale. The project area is on the Palouse Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Project site is located on forest road 3321 North and East of the community of Bovill. Drive North from Bovill on state highway 3 for 3.5 miles and turn left onto Forest Road 377. Drive West on FR 377 for 1 mile and turn left onto FR 3321. FR 3321 is a gated road and is locked year round, a key will need to be checked out in order to gain access by vehicle to the work site. Drive south and west on FR 3321 for 8.5 miles to the east edge of the project area., Item 1.1 (unit 43) is a 153 acre regeneration unit that was harvested predominantly with ground based logging systems with small areas of skyline harvest. FR 3321runs through the center of the unit., GOLD BUG, The project consists of reducing fuels generated through harvest activities on identified areas within Units 1, 2, and 4 of the Gold Bug Timber Sale. The project area is on the Palouse Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Project site is located 9 miles north and east of the community of Potlatch, Idaho on forest roads 770, 1418, 370, and 4779 near the Prospect Peak landmark., Project Area: Drive north and east from Potlatch through the community of Onaway on Onaway road (paved) for 2 miles. Road takes a 90 degree turn left and becomes FR 377 (paved). Follow paved road for 2.5 miles and take 90 degree turn right onto gravel FR 770. Continue north and east on FR 770 for 5 miles at this point you have entered the Gold Bug sale area., BOVILL, Idaho, 83806, United States
