- NUMBER: PR: 0040076821 POSTED DATE: 04/02/2013 SUBJECT:Conference Center Rental for East Asian Australasian Flyaway Partnership Conference. This announcement constitutes the only notice. This is not a request for quotes. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than April 8, 2013 by sending an e-mail to almeda_gaddis@fws.gov; however, any technical data received will be for the sole purpose of market research for future requirements. Under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), Fish & Wildlife Services, Region 7 Contracting and General Services intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed price order to: COMPANY:CIRI AlaskaTourism DUNS: 014105444 FOR :FWS Division of Migratory Birds ON:04/03/2013 NAICS:561599All other travel arrangement and reservations services AUTHORITY:8.405-6(a)(2) Limited Sources Justification and Approval 13.106(b) Soliciting from a single source FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and compelling urgency. Determinations not to compete this proposed procurement were made because: The The Seward Windsong Lodge located in Seward, Alaska (part of the CIRI Alaska Tourism Corporation/CATC). The Windsong Lodge is the only hotel in Seward, Alaska that has the appropriate meeting/lodging space required to conduct the East Asian Australasian Flyaway Partnership conference held June 10-14, 2013. The conference room(s) must be large enough to accommodate approximately 100 attendants on June 11, 12, and 14, 2013. The Seward Windsong also has enough lodging rooms to accommodate the attendees to avoid multiple locations; saving time and money.
