Description

Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, labor, supervision and expertise necessary to Replace Automatic Transfer Switches for Buildings 2, 4, 7, 8, 38, 39, 42, 45, 82 at VAMC Alexandria, Louisiana as required by drawings and specifications. The project involves installing 13 new transfer switches located in 9 buildings and installing a new automatic transfer switch control station in Bldg 40. The transfer switches are 120/208 volts, range from 150amps to 600 amps and shall be equipped with provisions for future communications between new and existing switches back to Bldg 40. The new transfer switches shall fit into the footprint of the existing switches. The existing transfer switches to remain are ASCO 7000 series with RS485 communications modules. New switches are required to be compatible with existing switches. The VA requires a 15 day notice for major power interruptions, and the work will be scheduled after normal working hours to reduce disruption of the normal services at the facility. The dollar magnitude is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. NAICS 236220 applies-size standard is $33.5 million. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). All respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database (http://www.sam.gov) under NAICS 236220 and complete online Representations and Certifications at http://www.sam.gov, along with Vets 100 at http://www.dol.gov/vets/vets-100.html in order to submit offers and be eligible for award. All offerors must be listed as "verified" in the VIP database, available in VETBIZ at https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/. You must register as "Interested Vendor" at the fedbizopps website for solicitation. In order to receive e-mail notification of amendments, you must register in fedbizopps "To Receive Notification" for amendments. Amendments to this solicitation will not be mailed, but will be posted at the fedbizopps website. Offerors are responsible for obtaining solicitation from fedbizopps and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation. Telephone requests will not be accepted. This is not an Invitation for Bid (IFB). Solicitation No. VA-256-13-B-0666 including specifications and drawings will be issued as an IFB construction contract on or about April 19, 2013. Bids will be due not less than 30 days after issuance of the solicitation. A site visit will be scheduled and specific information for the site visit will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation. NOTE: This project is subject to the AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.
