- Description
- This is a notice of intent to proceed with a sole source requirement with the Border Pallets, Inc. for the destruction of contraband by incineration. CBP requires an enclosed, secure incineration facility. For logistical reasons, on-site incineration cannot be made secure at this vault location. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice is being provided per FAR 5.201(b)(1)(iii) and 5.207(c)(15) and (16). Market research has found no other area facility which can meet this security requirement. Vendors that desire further information or believe that they can meet these requirements may respond to this notice. The response should contain a brief description of the proposed facility, its size and capacity (such as pounds per hour, maximum sizes, security arrangements, etc.). If the response suggests a qualified vendor, a competitive Request for Quotes will be issued (RFQ). The determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any vendor who wishes to submit information for this requirement should email their capability information to the attention of Nathan Briggs at nathan.briggs@dhs.gov. Submission must be received no later than 12:00 noon ET, April 8, 2013. Only email responses will be accepted.
