Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by NSWC Crane. This request for information (RFI) is issued solely for information and preliminary planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS NOR A REQUEST FOR QUOTE AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS OR AN INDICATION THAT THE GOVERNMENT WILL AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE WORK OUTLINED IN THIS SOURCES SOUGHT. There is no anticipated formal solicitation at this time. The US Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies or entities that respond to this announcement. Any costs incurred by interested companies in response to this announcement will NOT be reimbursed. White papers may be submitted any time prior to expiration of this announcement. Companies are encouraged to respond if they have the capability and/or capacity to provide the services identified below. Respondents should identify their company name, address, email, telephone number and a name and telephone number of a point of contact having the authority and knowledge to clarify responses with government representatives. Please briefly describe your company, your products and services, history, ownership, and other information you deem relevant. In particular, please describe any projects you have been involved in that are similar in concept to what is described in this RFI, including management and operations approach, and any relevant lessons learned (no suggested page count). It is requested that all companies interested in participating in this effort please note their interest by providing a capabilities statement for the request indicated below. Please refer to announcement number N00164-13-SNB10 in all correspondence and communications. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: The Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC Crane) is requesting information pertaining to the availability of Single Duty (S/D) and Double Duty (D/D) Switch Tube (SWT) tetrode vacuum tubes that switch and provide constant current to crossed-field devices enabling radar operations within CG System Configuration and DDG System Configuration onboard the Ticonderoga class cruisers (CGs) and Arleigh Burke class destroyers (DDGs). The Switch Tube (SWT) is a tetrode vacuum tube consisting of four elements: (1) directly heated cathode (filament); (2) an anode (3) a control grid and (4) a screen grid. The Switch Tube design allows simplified construction by incorporating a cylindrical filament surrounded by concentric grids and an anode. The S/D Switch Tube regulates high voltages in support of the MK-99 Fire Control System associated with the SPY-1 Radar System. The S/D and D/D Switch Tube performance specifications may be requested, including NAVSEA Drawings 57311-6155763, Rev. B, and NAVORD Drawing 10001-2904186, Rev. N through Joint Certification Program for release of controlled documents. Requests for any Weapons Spec and controlled documentation should be directed toward Jim Epple, see below for contact information. The requirement for a 4-year period is estimated to be 320 units for PN6155763 and 48 units for PN 2904186 with first production delivery required within 270 days after order. Additional spares may be included. Any source without a qualified design will be required to produce a First Article unit before beginning production. FORM/FIT/FUNCTION information provided becomes Government property and will not be returned. All proprietary or classified information will be treated appropriately. Please submit any applicable product literature, drawings, brochures, videos, rough orders of magnitude (ROM), discussions you deem appropriate, or any other related material which meets the Navy ™s requirements on or before 1- May - 2013 via electronic mail. Switch Tube Industry Day is scheduled May 7, 2013 with the proposed time frames: 0900 - 0930 Government Brief to selected industry attendees regarding the requirement and any currently expected performance specification updates and proposed RFP schedule, 0930 - 1500 Selected one-on-one industry briefs to Government, 1500 - 1600 consolidated question responses that are relevant to all offerors ƒ Please note that the Government is under no obligation to conduct these sessions. 1) Industry briefs to Government are chosen based upon analysis of white papers submitted against this Switch Tube RFI. 2) All Industry representatives are highly encouraged to bring technical teams and questions regarding the Draft Performance Specification or any questions related to the Switch Tube RFI. 3) Dress code is Business Casual 4) All discussions and information presented shall be UNCLASSIFIED 5) Industry representatives that have been selected to present may only be present during their own brief. The audience during each Industry brief will be strictly limited to Government Representatives and Government Contractors. 6) All attendees must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. 7) Industry representatives that have NOT been selected to present will NOT be invited to attend the Industry Day. However, all invited Industry representatives are encouraged to attend the government briefing. 8) The Switch Tube industry day will be held at NSWC Crane, Building 3168, Radar Technologies and Microwave Engineering Facility, 300 Highway 361, Crane, IN 47522. 9) Selected presentations shall be limited to no more than 30 minutes; additional time will be allotted for questions and answers. Contractors must be properly registered in the Government's System for Award Management (SAM) and in the Joint Certification Program (JCP) in order to receive the attachments. Offerors may obtain information on SAM registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 1-866-606-8220 or via the Internet at https://www.sam.gov. Information about the JCP is located at http://www.dlis.dla.mil. The attachments will be posted to FedBizOpps at the same time the synopsis is posted. All interested parties should provide the requested information regarding this announcement no later than 1-May-2013 4:00 p.m. ET at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division. White papers may be submitted any time prior to expiration of this announcement. Responses received after 30 days after RFI release may not be considered in the government's analyses. Anyone not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP (if issued) and any comments provided may or may not be included in a formal solicitation. Availability of any formal solicitation may be announced under a separate Federal Business Opportunities announcement.
