- Government Responses to Questions Received as of April 5, 2013. 1) What is the diameter of the cold stop and its distance from the focal plane in the FLIR cameras on which the custom objectives will be used? The cameras are the SC6000-QWIP and the SC8203-InSb. Answer Question 1: Back working distance is contained the ICD for each camera, which is not releasable by the Government. For more information about each camera model, please contact FLIR Advanced Thermal Systems in Niceville, FL. 2) Is it possible to obtain the spectral quantum efficiencies of the two cameras above? Answer Question 2: See the response to question 1. 3) Both statements of requirements state: The lens must meet the following resolution requirements over the entire waveband (whether 7.8 - 9 or 1.7 - 4.8 mm, depending on the objective): - The Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) must be 20% or more at 20 line pairs per mm (lpm) over 90% of the field; - The MTF must be 40% or more at 12 lpm over 90% of the field; Could you please confirm that the MTF values specified are for the square wave modulation transfer, and not for a sine wave pattern? Answer Question 3: Confirmed. 4) Could you please clarify the expression "over the entire waveband" in the MTF requirements? Does it imply that the required MTF is a polychromatic MTF, which is measured with flux from all wavelengths at once, or does it mean that the MTF specification must be met for each wavelength individually without refocusing? Answer Question 4: Polychromatic MTF. 5) Could you please clarify the meaning of "over 90 % of the field" in the MTF requirements? Is 100 % the area of the focal plane, or the distance between its center and its corner? Answer Question 5: The distance between the center and the corner.
