- Description
- THIS IS NOT A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The U.S. Geological Survey, Crustal Geophysics and Geochemistry Science Center, has a requirement for airborne gravity gradiometry and magnetic data as part of an airborne geophysical survey over part of southeast Missouri. This data will be used to create a geologic framework as part of a research study on the setting and origin of iron-oxide copper-cobalt- gold and rare earth element (IOCG-REE) deposits in southeast Missouri. The USGS requires a platform that is well suited for near surface investigations and have the capability for recording magnetic and gravity gradiometry data, commonly a fixed-wing aircraft. The contractor will be required to provide digitally recorded and processed airborne data. The data must be well calibrated and corrected for any system response and drift. The requirement is for a minimum of 2,800 line km with up to a total 20,500 line km, if awarded. This procurement is subject to the availability of funding. The USGS is in search of small business firms who are able to provide the above mentioned survey data. Small business firms who feel they can furnish the required data or its functional equivalent (based on criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures and such other materials, which correspond to the required data collection criteria stated herein. An example of recently flown data shall be submitted with each response. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, request for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request. Email affirmative responses to ddowney@usgs.gov. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business April 10, 2013 by 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time.
