Description
Sources sought synopsis announcement is issued to assist the 673d Contracting Squadron, JBER, Alaska, in performing market research to determine interest and capability. This is not a request for proposal (RFP) and responses to this request are not proposals and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. This is not a guarantee of a future RFP or an award. This document should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the Government. Any information provided to the Government in response to this document will become 673d Contracting Squadron property and will not be returned. The Government will not reimburse contractors for any cost associated with responding to this request. JBER, AK is seeking interested sources capable of leasing a Caterpillar CB534 vibratory double drum roller asphalt compactor or equivalent. Drum roller must be capable of compacting asphalt pavement. The following characteristics of the Caterpillar CB534 are the minimum requirements an equivalent piece of equipment much possess in order to meet the customers' requirements. The power requirement for the engine will be 115hp (85kw) or greater. The following identifies the two essential physical characteristics and the ranges which meet the customer's requirements: 1) drum width 1600-1800mm and 2) drum diameter 1200-1400mm. Source will also provide all equipment, supervision and transportation necessary to deliver drum roller to JBER and remove it following conclusion of lease term. Based on the responses to this sources sought notice/market research, the government may choose to issue an RFP for an IDIQ or a Blanket purchase agreement. The applicable North American Classification System (NAICS) code is 532412, with a business size of $30,000,000. Based on the responses to this sources sought notice/market research, this requirement may be set-aside for small businesses or procured through full and open competition. Interested and qualified sources are requested to provide: (1) Company name, point of contact, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers, type and business size under the applicable NAICS code; (2) Expected shipment time from your location to JBER, AK for each item; (3) Respondents are asked to limit submissions to ten pages or less. Any information provided is voluntary. All eligible firms responding to this Sources Sought must ensure their response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the firm's qualifications to perform this requirement.
