Description

JA_13_23286 for Contract # N00421-11-C-1066 Modification to Extend Contract N00421-11-C-1066 : The purpose of this modification is to provide notice of the sole source award under contract N00421-11-C-1066. In accordance with FAR 6.3 and NAVAIRINST 4200.31E, the attached J&A_13_23286 was included in this modification, which provided authorization and approval on a sole source basis of an extension up to six months under contract N00421-11-C-1066; thereby, allowing for continued contract performance while competition for the follow-on contract is completed. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition was IAW 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The proposed contract modification to raise the ceiling ensured continued performance by the incumbent and was synopsized on FedBizOpps on 26-Feb-2013 IAW FAR 5.201(b)(1)(ii). The Government awarded this 6 month extension pursuant to FAR 52.217-8 as any delay would have resulted in the NSWC not having the critical aircraft maintenance services support and would have caused a break in service of approximately three months. This is notification is for informational purposes only and is not a request for a proposal.
