- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, bids, or quotations. At this time, there are NO PROJECT PLANS OR SPECIFICATIONS AVAILABLE. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. Responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Regional Office in the Intermountain Region of the U.S. Forest Service is doing market research to understand the numbers and types of contractors who have the capability and are interested in performing the following project: Need to know if belong to any Soci-Economic Program The U.S. Forest Service is contemplating the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) for fuels treatment work, precommercial tree thinning and timber stand improvement projects on all National Forests in Region 4 (Ashley, Boise, Bridger-Teton, Dixie, Fishlake-Manti-LaSal, Payette, Salmon-Challis, Caribou-Targhee, Humboldt-Toiyabe, and Uinta-Wasatch-Cache)s. The specific work activities will involve tree thinning, girdling, lop and scatter, pruning, fuel modification zone construction, piling, pile burning and chipping. The selection criteria involve a number of items including but not limited to experience, tools used, methods, and key personnel. The contractor/service provider shall provide labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and supervision necessary to complete the project. Interested vendors who are registered in System For Award Management (SAM), and are able to perform the required should provide your company information to USDA Forest Service Attn: Brian Wharton, Contracting Officer, USDA Forest Service, 324 25th Street Ogden UT 84401, or email to bwharton@fs.fed.us. All information must be received by the Forest Service no later than April 22 2013, 1400 MST. An organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work. After a review of the responses received, a pre-solicitation synopsis and solicitation may be published in Federal Business Opportunities. Responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation.
