Description

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This is not a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, bids, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. Responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center is planning to solicit for a vendor to maintain the water chemistry of the water treatment systems located at the Information Technology Center (ITC) Fifth Avenue & Roosevelt Road, Hines, Illinois 60141. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center/ VA Milwaukee is conducting a market survey to determine the existence of potential small business concerns (e.g., HUBZone, 8(a), SDVOSB, Woman Owned, etc.) with the capability to accomplish this Service. Provide all management, tools, supplies and water treatment products, test kits necessary to maintain water chemistry in the water systems at Hines Information Technology Center (ITC), Building 215, Hines, IL. The water systems are the four Baltimore Air Coil cooling tower sumps and the closed loop building cooling water circulation system. Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS) will be provided to the VA prior to the delivery of any chemicals to the site. The contractor shall maintain water systems chemistry in accordance with the appropriate manufacturer's recommendations and commercial practices to remove / prevent hard water deposits on piping and towers, prevent algae and bacteria, prevent oxidation of towers and piping, maintain PH, TDS, etc, to protect towers and piping to within industry standards. The contractor will ensure water quality continues to meet or exceed the appropriate VA, JCAHO, Federal, State, Local, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Clean Water Act, American Water Works Association (AWWA), and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards. The Contractor will conduct inspections and related services to sustain the proper chemistry of the water systems. The contractor shall perform appropriate sampling and laboratory analysis to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. The contractor will perform inspections and tests to maintain water chemistry. The contractor shall provide test kits for VAITC personnel's and instruct VAITC how to use those kits. A discussion of operating conditions with the VAITC representative shall take place every inspection. Equipment and water treatment service will be rendered according to the equipment manufacturer's recommendations and in accordance with all Local, State, Federal, VA, OSHA and EPA standards. All information shall be submitted in Word or PDF format, not to exceed 10 pages, including all attachments. Each submittal shall also include the following business information: a.DUNS number b.Organization Name c.Organization Address d.Point of Contact (including name, title, addresses, telephone number, fax number and Email address) e.Business size f.Socio-economic status ( IF SDVOSB or VOSB - provide SDVOSB or VOSB CVE verification) g.GSA Contract Number if applicable. Firms shall identify whether or not they are a small business or other than small business in accordance with the size standard for NAICS code 561990. If another NAICS code may be applicable, please identify the NAICS in your capability statement. All information must be received no later than: April19th 2013, 2:00 PM, CST.
