Description

Construction Project No. 656-13-233, entitled Repair Abandoned Bridge Abutment at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System, St. Cloud, Minnesota. This solicitation is issued as an IFB ( Invitation for Bid) construction project, which is 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS firms. All bidders must be registered on www.ccr.gov, www.vetbiz.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov by the bid due date. The NAICS code is 236220. All work completed in accordance as described in the specifications and on contract drawings. Work includes repairing the existing bridge abutment by salvaging the existing stone work, demolition of the existing structure, installation of drilled h elical anchors and reinforced concrete grade beams, reinforced concrete slabs, stairs and seating, guardrail installation, reinstalling existing stone work, erosion control, turf restoration and stream bank stabilization. Work includes removal of the existing fishing pier, demolition of the existing structure installation of drilled helical anchors, precase concrete beams and precast concrete planks, concrete topping, guardrail installation, erosion control, turf restoration and stream bank stabilization. Liquidated damages do apply to this project and are $132.00 per day after the contract completion date. Potential offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until the VA has received proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on www.fbo.gov. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. NO HARD COPY DOCUMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. All project information will be available free of charge on www.fbo.gov. No bidders mailing lists are maintained by the Contracting Officer. The interested parties list is available on www.fbo.gov. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $500,000 to $1.0 Million. NO TELEPHONE QUESTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All questions or inquiries must be submitted via email to wendy.hoeschen@va.gov. The solicitation will be issued on or around 4/26/13. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 5/16/13 at 1:00 p.m. CST in B3 Room 207C; attendance is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged. A public bid opening will be held on 5/29/13 at 2PM CST when bids are due. Electronic or faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires bidders to secure bonding. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
