- The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions posed by interested parties and extend the closing date from 15 April 2013 at 12:00PM EST to 16 April 2013 at 12:00PM EST. All quotes must acknowledge all amendments in order to be considered for award. Question 1. This solicitation appears to be a straight purchase. Is there installation? Answer 1. No, the Government does not require installation for these items. Question 2. In light of quote mark APC Bench Stock is not funded to duplicate spares for another manufacturers equipment. I would say that this solicitation should be set-aside considering its value is between $3,000 - $1,000,000. Does the 408th intend to set aside this solicitation? Answer 2. The contracting office does not intend to set-aside this requirement in accordance with FAR 19.000(b). FAR 19.000(b) states that FAR subpart 19.000(a) quote mark applies only in the United States or its outlying areas. quote mark The contracting office soliciting this requirement is not located in the United States or its outlying areas. Question 3. Is this order for the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force, or the U.S. Embassy? Answer 3. This order is for a joint Department of Defense agency. Question 4. Who is the Ombudsman for this solicitation? Answer 4. The Ombudsman for this solicitation can be contacted via the following address: Army Materiel Command Ombudsman 4400 Martin Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898 Question 5. We are currently going through the CCR and GSA registration process. Would that defer us from bidding on this solicitation? Answer 5. No, this will not defer you from being able to provide a quote for this solicitation. However, all United States-based companies must be registered in CCR at the time of award. Question 6. The initial solicitation provided salient characteristics, but on this new one this part is missing, my question is what does this mean? Answer 6. This solicitation requires the offeror to provide a quote for the same brand name and model equipment the Government is requesting. Question 7. Is there any way that I can deliver the goods to Camp Arifjan? Answer. No, as indicated in the solicitation, the Government requires delivery to Shaw AFB, SC. Question 8. Do you have a form you want me to use to submit the quote or a specific format you would like me to use when sending in the quote? Answer 8. All quote information shall be provided on, or formatted to standard size (8 quote mark x 11.5 quote mark or 8.5 quote mark x 11 quote mark ) paper, to the maximum extent possible. Electronic quotes provided via e-mail shall be submitted in Microsoft Word, Excel format, Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), or as indicated elsewhere. WINZIP (.zip) files cannot be accepted as they are routinely blocked by the domain firewall. It may be necessary to send multiple emails to keep the e-mail within the firewall size of 8MB. Quotes sent in multiple e-mails shall be numbered to include the total sent, for example quote mark E-mail 2 of 6. quote mark
