- Description
- The Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Procurement Directorate, Office of Information Technology Contracting Division intends to award a sole source contract to Smiths Detection to provide Heiman Cargo Vision (HCV) Remote Image Workstation (RIW) Daisy stand-alone image interpretation software licenses. This software allows for the compatibility between the CBP systems operating Windows 7 and the previously deployed Smiths Detection Cab 200 equipment. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice is being provided per FAR 5.201(b)(1)(i) and 5.207(c)(15) and (16). Market research has found no other source can provide the proprietary Smiths Detection software which enables CBP systems operating Windows 7 to be compatible with Smiths Detection systems. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals. All qualified sources may submit a capability statement. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
