- The United States Air Force (USAF) intends to solicit and negotiate a proposal for an unspecified number of Small Light Weight Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Diplexers (SLUD). The SLUD is used in the B-2 Adaptable Communication Suite Rack, which increases the Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communication capacity and combat effectiveness of the B-2 Bomber. The National Stock Number for this part is 5985015274843. The USAF intends to solicit and negotiate this effort as a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, because the requested items are proprietary to equipment currently in use and no other item will correctly interface with current Government owned equipment. The USAF intends to award this sole source contract to The KEYW Corporation, 7763 Old Telegraph Rd, Bldg. A, Severn, MD 21144. This presolicitation notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the agency. Responses to this notice are due on or before 4pm EST on 02 May 2013 and can be sent by email to kevin.kaighin@wpafb.af.mil.
