Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) South Texas Health Care System (VASTHCS) intends to renovate the Spinal Cord Injury Unit (SCIU) corridors and lobby area at the Audie L. Murphy Medical Center, located at 7400 Merton Minter Boulevard, San Antonio, Texas 78229. Project 671-13-105 is a renovation project for the SCIU area on the ground floor at the Audie L. Murphy Medical Center. The approximate square footage area for this project is 7,926 SF. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, tools and equipment; supervision and construction services necessary for Project 671-13-105 to Renovate the Spinal Cord Injury Unit (SCIU) Main Corridors and Lobby. Phases work includes but is not limited to: flooring replacement, ceiling replacement, wall replacements, painting, railing replacement, door refurbishing, door protection, electrical, lighting replacements (high efficiency T8 lights), mechanical, HVAC supply grills, return grills, transfer air grills and exhaust grills. The relocation and/or re-installation of all associated building management systems, such as alarm devices, speakers, security systems, communications (IT) such as data and phone cabling, wireless system plumbing and electrical work are included as part of the scope. The method of procurement shall be by an Invitation for Bid (IFB) in accordance with Parts 14 and 36 of the FAR and the estimated solicitation issue date on or by May 14, 2013 with a projected contract award on or by July 30, 2013. The VA reserves the right to use only Federal Business Opportunities, FedBizOpps (FBO) website - www.fbo.gov via the internet, to provide notification of any amendments to this requirement and to post the IFB solicitation. It is the contractor's responsibility to view the FBO website daily for any amendments to this requirement and to obtain the IFB solicitation with applicable specifications and drawings. This procurement is a competitive offer and the solicitation will be advertised as a 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), certified and CCR registered under www.VetBiz.gov under Public Law 109-461 (38 USC 8127), offers/bids received from other than certified and CCR registered SDVOSB concerns shall not be considered. The applicable primary NACIS Code for this requirement is 236220, $33.5 Million. Construction Projects Magnitude: Between $500,000.00 - $1,000,000.00.
