Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a construction project for Fall Hazard Mitigation at Fort Knox-Penobscot, Maine to determine the interest, availability and capability of 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238990. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $500,000. The project is planned to be issued on or about June 2013 and the contract performance period is 12 months. The work consists of installation of railing and planting of shrubs at Fort Knox State Park; on the first level of the fort is one unprotected falling hazard of over 6 feet located over the main entrance overlooking the parade ground. Along the southern and northern sides of the fort's exterior are two granite block stairways which lead from the ditch to the second level earthen batteries. Both Stairway shave no railings. Both are unprotected with drops of over 6 feet. Within the ditch alongside the main fort, there is a trench with 120 linear feet of unprotected drop of over 6 feet. The stairways and trench inside the ditch present falling hazards. Throughout the second level there are unprotected drops of over 25 feet that present falling hazards. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications of the team and experience in performing the work requirements stated above. Subcontractors may be used to demonstrate this past experience. Responses are due May 10, 2013. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Elandria Cameron. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
