Description

41 USC 253(c)(3) - Industrial mobilization, engineering, developmental, or research capability; or expert services Based on the successful completion of a Comprehensive Review in accordance with FAR Part 35.017, The Department of the Treasury and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to exercise the option to extend the term of the contract under Contract No. TIRNO-99-D-00005. This contract is with The MITRE Corporation for the management and operation of the Center for Enterprise Modernization (CEM), a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC). MITRE as the operator of the CEM, will provide expert and objective strategic, technical, and program management advice, guidance, and support services to the Sponsors, and other Non-sponsor organizations as authorized. The FFRDC is to bring core technical competencies to best advise the Government on the modernization and transformation of mission capabilities and the resolution of critical issues in order to further mission achievement and operational outcomes. The FFRDC shall provide the necessary capabilities, independent evaluation and guidance to inform the Government's decision making process when existing alternative sources for satisfying agency requirements cannot effectively meet the sponsors' needs. The Department of the Treasury and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) also acknowledges the co-sponsorship with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The contract is an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) task ordering contract. The option period is 10/01/13 - 09/30/18. The estimated value of the option is $483,000,000.
