Description

The Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Intelligent Systems Division, intends to negotiate a firm-fixed-price purchase order, on a sole source basis, for the maintenance of a EOS M270 Direct Metal Laser Sintering Machine from EOS of North America, Inc., under the authority of FAR subpart 6.302-1. This Sole Source determination is based on the fact that EOS of North America, Inc. maintains proprietary diagnostics software that is necessary for the service and support of all of their equipment. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219, and the dollar standard is $19,000,000.00. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for quotation, however, interested organizations may submit their interest and capabilities, to perform the effort, by email only, to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, May 10, 2013. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
