Description
The U.S. Army Materiel Systems Analysis Activity (USAMSSA), in conjunction with the Joint Requirements Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (JRO-CBRND), is seeking information on products and technologies that could be used for the containment and transport of contaminated human remains (CHR). For the purposes of this request, assume the contamination could be from exposure to traditional chemical warfare agents, biological warfare agents, non-traditional agents, toxic industrial materials and radiological particles. Although the focus is on products and/or technologies at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 (as listed by the Chemical Biological Defense Program (CBDP) Technology Transition Handbook; 20 July 2005), we will consider technologies at lower TRLs, if appropriate. Specific information requested on each of the products or technologies includes: Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Test Data (i.e., resistivity to chemical permeation) Durability (this includes resistivity to impact, resistivity to decompression at an altitude of 40,000 feet, external load limit [e.g., maximum stack height]) Weight of the technology as well as the load carrying capacity Size including external length, width and height as well as internal clear envelope volume as defined by length, width and height Packaging in accordance with 49 CFR Shelf Life including identification of limiting components (e.g., seal, locking or sealing mechanism, body material, etc.) Storage requirements Reusability requirements to include post utilization cleaning requirements Operating Requirements Skill Level, Training Requirements, and Training Provided Warranty information Identification if technology contains sampling/monitoring port, purge or blanketing gas connection Point of Contact (POC) Interested parties shall submit information in response to this RFI to: USAMSAA, AMXAA-CB ATTN: Rick Arcilesi 392 Hopkins Road APG, MD 21005-5071 Questions concerning this RFI may be addressed by contacting: Rick Arcilesi (410) 278-6656 Email: richard.d.arcilesi.civ@mail.mil Responses should be received NLT COB 24 May 2013.
