Description
BATTLEFIELD AIRMEN OPERATIONS (BAO), REQUEST FOR INFORAMTION (RFI) 1. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Battlefield Airmen Branch (WISN), Wright-Patterson AFB OH, is submitting a Request for Information (RFI). The Air Force RFI is for a very small form-factor Link-16 radio. This form factor should be no larger in size than the currently fielded 152/152A or MBITR handheld radios or even as small as the RT-1922 microlight SADL radio. This requirement calls for a small, lightweight, ruggedized tactical data link terminal to be worn by an operator during the completion of their duties. This includes sending and receiving Link-16 messages and J voice communications in a mounted and dismounted tactical environment. The devices shall serve as the means to successfully accomplish those duties under all environmental conditions. 2. This radio should provide a reliable, secure, Link-16 network connectivity and J-voice, as well as be NSA certified. The terminal should be ergonomically and functionally similar to currently fielded Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio (MBITR), 152/152A handheld radios and use the 5.8Hr lithium ion battery and single bay or six bay charger that is used by the 152/152A or MBITR handheld radios that currently fielded for these radios. The transceiver shall be capable of being connected to, and pass data from a computer or similar handheld device through an Ethernet and/or USB 2.0 connectors. The handheld Link-16 radio should also have a 6 pin multifunction connector on to and be rated to withstand leakage up to 2 meters in depth. 3. Responses may be submitted electronically to the following email address: Primary: Jarrett.Stamper@wpafb.af.mil Alternate: Michael.longstreath.ctr@us.af.mil or mailed to AFLCMC/WISK, Attn. Jarrett Stamper, 1895 5th Street, Bldg 47 Rm 210, Wright Patterson AFB, OH 45433 to be received no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, 30 May 2013. Any questions concerning this acquisition should be directed to Jarrett.Stamper@wpafb.af.mil
