Description
10 CONS/LGCA at the United States Air Force Academy, CO is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support this requirement for Maintenance and Repair of Pipe Organs. The requirement is anticipated to be for a 1-year base period with 4 option years. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. This sources sought announcement is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or to award a contract. T here is no solicitation at this time. There will not be reimbursement for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 451140, Musical Instrument and Supplies Stores, and the small business size standard is $10 million. The contractor shall provide all personnel, tools, materials, equipment, supervision, and all other items and services necessary to maintain the two pipe organs in the Cadet Chapel at the United States Air Force Academy, CO. The contractor shall inspect the two pipe organs and perform monthly preventative maintenance to include, but not limited to testing, regulating, tuning, lubricating, and cleaning the organs. The two pipe organs were installed in 1963. The pipe organs were custom manufactured by M.P. Moller Company, Hagerstown, Maryland. The Protestant Chapel pipe organ has 83 ranks and 67 stops controlling 4,334 pipes with the largest being 32 feet long. This organ was fully restored during the years 2002 through 2004. The Catholic Chapel pipe organ has 36 ranks and 29 stops controlling 1,950 pipes. The Catholic Chapel pipe organ has not been restored. The pipes are constructed of wood, various alloys of tin and lead, and ranks of highly polished copper. The Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this sources sought. All costs associated with this sources sought will be solely at the expense of the respondents. Additionally, all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result from a response to this sources sought.
