Description
Contracting Office Address: Department of the Navy, Naval Air Systems Command, NAVAIR HQ, Building 2272, 47123 Buse Road, IPT, Patuxent River, MD 20670 The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA-209), intends to issue a contract modification(s) including firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee (level of effort) contract line items on a sole source basis under production contract N00019-11-C-0019 with BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration, Inc. for the redesign and multiplatform Engineering Fleet Support (EFS) in support of the Low Probability of Intercept Altimeter (LPIA) program. NAVAIR is assigned responsibility for the planning, programming, budgeting, procurement, installation, operation, and support of PMA-209 Air Combat Electronics. The modification(s) shall procure: (1) Tasks in direct support of LPIA production, consisting of technical, engineering, integration, repair, and operations support of the radar altimeter receiver/transmitter RT-1805/APN, P/N P600A083-02 NSN 5999-01-481-3659 and P/N P600A083-03 NSN 5841-01-568-7044, LPIAs. (2) The tasks associated with the redesign of the digital signal processor circuit card assembly to remedy parts obsolescence issues. (3) Other tasking as needs arise, but may include engineering support on the performance and interface characteristics of the RT-1805/APN, specialized engineering investigations including troubleshooting of specific interface, performing software upgrades in response to engineering investigations as needed, integration or performance difficulties, out of warranty repair of production RT-1805/APN, pre-production RT-1805/APN or specialized equipment. Unless otherwise stated herein, no formal request for proposal(s) or additional written information is currently available. Requests for the same will be disregarded. A determination by the Government not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. This synopsis is published for information purposes only. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The award(s) is intended to be made non-competitively to BAE Systems, Wayne, NJ, under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." GENERAL INFORMATION: BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration, Inc. is the sole developer of the LPIA family of products and related ancillary equipment and maintains the proprietary rights to this altimeter, it is the only source capable of providing the required efforts.
