Description
SLAC SEEKS VENDORS THAT CAN PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING: Two grazing incidence soft X-ray mirror systems, including both optics and mechanics as briefly specified hereafter. The two mirror system must be UHV compatible and all the required movement must be remotely controllable. The manufacturer must also be able to characterize the mechanical movement as well as to perform the optical metrology (in house or through qualified laboratories) with accuracy such that the following specifications can be tested. Mirror: Active area: Length 800 mm Width: 25 mm. Coatings: B4C Blank Material: Single Crystal Silicon Shape: Flat: Residual radius of curvature acceptable: Tangential radius │R│> 200 Km Sagittal Radius │P│>2 Km Surface quality: Tangential Shape Error (Measured on spatial period from 0.5 to full aperture) < 0.3 nm rms on the central 300 mm; <1 nm rms on the full aperture (after best sphere subtraction) Tangential slope error: ≤ 0.25 urad RMS (0.5 mm; full aperture) Sagittal slope error: ≤ 1 rad RMS (0.5 mm - 10 mm) Surface Roughness < 0.3 nm rms Mechanical components: The mirror shall meet the above mentioned specification after mounting. The following key movement and associated tolerances are required: ITEM Precision Stability Range Actuator Encoder Resolution Fine pitch 0.15 urad 1 urad 1 mrad Motorised 0.3 urad Roll 50 urad 10 urad 500 urad Motorised 10 urad Y (Vertical) 0.5 mm 10 um 25 mm Motorised 0.05 mm X (horizontal) 10 um 1 um +3 mm - 20 mm Motorised 1 um The entire mirror chamber must provided a very stable support, able to guarantee the above required tolerances and stability. The preferred support type is a granite base, directly connected to the floor. All parts and subassemblies shall be cleaned for UHV.The base pressure must be lower than 5x10-10 mbar (3.5x10-10 torr) with the mirror and all the actuators installed. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. VENDORS INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED AS A POTENTIAL SOURCE SHOULD IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS AN "INTERESTED PARTY" VIA THE FBO PORTAL. DO NOT CONTACT THE SUBCONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR.
