- Description
- The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) intends to award a sole source contract to Jeol USA, Inc., Service Division, 11 Dearborn Road, Peabody, MA. 01961-6043, for preventive maintenance on the DART ACCU TOF Mass Spectrometer model JMS-T100LC. The equipment is used to screen large quantities of samples for regulated chemicals such as phthalates in toys and tri-alkyl phosphates in crib mattresses. The equipment must be serviced regularly and maintained properly. The government believes JEOL USA Inc is the sole manufacturer, seller, and authorized service provider of the equipment. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. This notice is NOT a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can supply the service may give written notice to the Contract Specialist via email at ggrayson@cpsc.gov, by 12 PM EST on May 9, 2013. SUPPORTING EVIDENCE MUST BE FURNISHED IN SUFFICIENT DETAIL, to the above listed email address, Attn: Greg Grayson, Contract Specialist. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS. Responses will be evaluated: however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, CPSC will proceed with negotiating a sole source award to Jeol USA, Inc.
