Description
Replace Yokota High School: Construct a new structural steel and reinforced concrete, consolidated 325 student capacity high school containing a single story gymnasium/multipurpose cafeteria/food service/music facility and a two (2) story classroom wing over the existing soccer field at Yokota High School. Classroom wing includes general purpose classrooms, art, science, computer labs, information center, media, special education, teacher's workroom, and administration offices. The gymnasium shall include telescoping bleachers and a foldable partition. Cafeteria shall include serving lines, a food service area with built-in cafeteria equipment. The new building must meet all U.S. life safety, force protection, energy conservation standards and be completely accessible. Cabinets, counters, classroom sinks, storage closets, tack boards, whiteboards, coat racks/cubby units, heating and air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, closed circuit TV system, cable TV system, intercom/public address system, clock-bell system, telephone system and a local area network system will be part of the project. This project has been designed and shall be constructed to be certifiable to LEED for Schools, Silver. The U.S. Army Engineer District-Japan anticipates the release of an Invitation for Bids (IFB). Any solicitation pursued is intended for local sources only. Local sources are those sources physically located and licensed to perform construction work in Japan. The total estimated cost is between the range of 2,500,000,000 Japanese YEN to 10,000,000,000 Japanese YEN. Therefore, the Government intends to require contractors to demonstrate bonding capacity within this range in Japanese Yen. SOURCES SOUGHT QUESTIONAIRE: Interested firms are requested to furnish comments on the following questions: (1) For projects within the last 6 years, describe your firm's capability and experience in construction of Government or comparable commercial projects of educational facilities including facilities such as, child development centers, community centers and essentially any type of facility that involved the construction of multi-functional areas consisting of administrative spaces, educational areas, community gathering areas/auditorium spaces, kitchen/food preparatory spaces, cafeterias, library/multi-media rooms, gymnasiums/recreation rooms, and outdoor recreational facilities; that involved multiple disciplines and trades of the same. (2)Provide a list of relevant projects including Project Title, location, completion date and magnitude. (3)Explain and describe your firm's interest in this and other projects of similar scope and magnitude? (4)Identify and discuss your current construction bonding level: a)per contract b)aggregate contract bonding level. (5)Describe and discuss your firm's ability and past experience to work on multiple projects of similar scope/magnitude and at different locations/geographical areas? (6)In general terms, describe your firm's interest and capability to perform the construction work anticipated in this sources sought. (7)Other comments or information you wish to provide for consideration. If you do not have any comment on a particular question, please indicate so.
