- Description
- The Headquarters Pacific Air Forces Command (PACAF) Aircrew Flight Equipment office is hosting an Advanced Planning Brief to Industry (APBI) three-day Industry Day event and July 23-25, 2013 to provide interested companies an opportunity to receive briefings about current and future priorities and requirements, meet with Air Force, Army, and Navy representatives and ask questions about direction, priorities, requirements and processes. Companies are invited to present new products, technologies and/or improvements to existing products that will benefit the PACAF aviation communities. A list of members attending from each service and component will be E-mailed to each industry member attending 10 days prior to the event. The HQ PACAF AFE office is the lead organization for all Air Force Aircrew Flight equipment within the Pacific region with responsibility for identifying mission ready equipment for Aircrew survival. The following areas of industry are key interest to HQ PACAF AFE personnel, based on validated needs and requirements from the PACAF flying community: • Survival Vest, Body Armor, Survival Vest Components • Ballistic Helmets, Light Weight Helmets, Helmet cueing systems, Helmet Mounted Systems, Helmet mounted devices • Night Vision, Night vision lighting for aircrew use, • CBRN clothing and equipment, • Cold Weather Sleeping Systems, • Flight Clothing, Flight Gloves, • Exposure Suits, Extreme Cold Weather suits, • Ejection Seat modernization, • Parachutes, • One-Man Life Rafts, Multi-Place Life Rafts, • Non-munitions type signaling devices, • Electronic communications devices. The overarching goal of this industry day is to discuss capability gaps, end user needs, current and future requirements and flight safety standards - and align them with industries current capability or technology available in the market. As our strategic outlook and budgets are changing, the aviation community is looking to improve efficiencies, implement dual-use items wherever possible as well as general and specific measures to further reduce weight, manpower, and lifecycle sustainment cost. Note: Any new products or product improvements introduced need to integrate with existing flight equipment (G-suit, survival vest, etc.) and need to comply with other flight safety criteria. The Berry Amendment according to 10 U.S.C. 2533a and DFARS 225.7002 applies. One-on-One meetings with HQ PACAF and services representative are offered as part of this APBI, and are currently limited to the first 40 respondents. During this event, Industry will be able to show case their items at a vendor area where base members will be invited along with all military members on Island to visit and discuss products. A nominal registration fee will be required. A registration confirmation will include event location, as well as entry and exit requirements for Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam facilities and other pertinent information. Please have all requests to the POC by COB 1 June 2013. Registration documents will required to be returned by 1 July 2013. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION, RFQ OR PROMISE TO PURCHASE. THIS IS A NOTICE FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. The HQ-PACAF AFE has no funded requirements in our program at this time, and the purpose of this meeting is a market survey of new and emerging technologies, as well as reviewing available Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) items that may apply to current and future mission needs. Any formal solicitations and/or resulting procurements will be announced separately. This announcement is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information provided in response to this notice nor reimburse any Party attending or participating for costs incurred for this event. Please send an Email requesting registration to CMSgt Edgar Poe at edgar.poe@us.af.mil and MSgt Randy Sole at randall.sole@us.af.mil
