Description
CONTINUATION PAGE Current work details read: "Contractor to provide on-site pest control services for at least (16) hours per week, eight (8) hours a day and eight (8) hours a night at each site, Brockton, West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain, weekly. Jamaica Plain facility will be performed eight(8) hours on Saturdays. Now reads: 2 days at 4 hours each and 2 evenings at 4 hours each so that four days per week are covered, 2 days at night and 2 during the day. This would be for each campus Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury and Brockton. JP will still be performed on Saturdays. Questions from interested vendors and responses below: Q: Who has the contract now, or has had previously? A: Burgess Pest Management Q: Is there a pre-bid meeting and/or site walk-through? It does not mention this. A: Thursday May, 9 2013-Jamaica Plain (9:00 AM), West Roxbury (11:00 AM), Brockton (2:00 PM) Q: Bedbugs, nuisance wildlife, & wood destroying insects (WDO) are all to be included with the normal scope of service? A: Treatment of bed bugs and termites or other (WDO) are separate. This means we will call when needed and can be billed separately. Q: Based on #2, how many bedbug, nuisance wildlife, and WDO service calls were performed last year or if possible on average over the last 3yrs. A: N/A based on response to question 2. These are either separate credit card purchases or purchase orders. Q: By law we must provide 48hrs (minimal) to allow people to prepare for a bedbug treatment. It is also common practice to allow the same amount of time to prepare for a K-9 bedbug inspection. Aside from the laws & best practices it just makes for a more successful treatment. A: I'm not sure if this 48 hour window is for residential only? In a hospital, we need to minimize downtime and get patient procedure areas back up and running ASAP. SOW calls for 24 hour response to treat if needed and 2 hour response to inspect to determine what needs to be done if anything. Q: Bed bugs are a specialized treatment. Would the government consider making it a separate line item? A: Only the inspection will be included in the contract. The treatment will be either a separate purchase order or credit card purchase.
