Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Audie L. Murphy Memorial Hospital, San Antonio, TX, VISN 17, intends to negotiate a four (5) month (5/01/2013- 9/30-2013) sole-source contract with an TECAN USA for the purchase of a renewal Te-Care Complete service contract in direct connection with Dr. Sunil Ahuja's research project entitled "Host Genetic Determinants of HIV-AIDS Susceptibility in a VA Cohort" in Research Service. The service agreement will include equipment items, Freedom EVO 200 Basic and TW-MO 96 MULTIPIP 3*5 INCL (SW+Manual). NAICS code 423450. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 6.302-3(a) (2) (ii), to establish or maintain an essential research and development capability to be provided by a federally funded research and development center. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no valid responses are received, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System will proceed with the intended sole source contract. Responses must be received no later than 12:00PM CST on 5/10/2013.
