- SOURCES SOUGHT AND COMMENTS REQUESTED on plan to solicit for a contract to provide ICU Intensivist Physician Services for the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) Joint Venture (JV) Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The Department of Veterans Affairs contracting office at NCO 20 Dupont, WA is seeking possible sources and welcomes commentary on its plan to solicit and award a firm fixed-price contract to provide for afore-mentioned professional medical services n a 1.0 FTEE basis. The intended period of performance is to be for base year with four (4) one-year option periods. The contractor under this contract will provide on-site services at the Joint Venture Hospital located on the military installation formerly known as Elmendorf AFB. Duties shall include, but are not limited to, providing a full range of staff physician services for inpatient beneficiaries including initiating orders for lab work and x-rays, prescribing medications and consulting with specialist and sub-specialists from the base staff. The physician will support the inpatient service at JBER JV Hospital covering the intensive care unit and medical ward, and doing internal medicine consultations and inpatient/outpatient procedures. The physician shall be expected to perform the following procedures, (but not limited to): lumbar puncture, arterial line placement, central venous line placement, diagnostic and therapeutic paracentesis, diagnostic and therapeutic thoracentesis, endotrachael tube placement, ventilator management, and EKG interpretation (initial reading), exercise treadmill studies, and adenosine/lexiscan cardiac studies. The physician shall be expected to cooperate with and participate in medical duties or functions related to quality of care review and improvement, including orientation to safety and infection control procedures. The applicable NAICS code for this acquisition is 621111. The size standard for any concern, including its affiliates with an average annual sales or receipts for it preceding three fiscal years shall not be more than $10 million. All offerors must have completed SAM registrations, including their ORCA data. Information shall be accepted from all business concerns, but interested vendors must indicate whether or not they are a small business as well as any other socio-economic categories under which they intend to submit information.
