- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract for the Purchase of a new and complete diesel oil/fuel oil purifier to be installed on the training vessel STATE OF MICHIGAN moored at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in Traverse City, MI, set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.106(b)(1)(i), Contracting Officer may solicit for one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. This unit will replace the obsolete purifier that is original ship's equipment and no longer serviceable or parts supported by the original manufacturer. A market survey was conducted for this item and a determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract was based upon responses received from this notice. A notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, any proposals received by 10 May 13 10:00 a.m. CDT will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Maritime Administration, Division of Gulf Operations intends to make a sole source award to GEA Mechanical Equipment US, Inc. 100 Fairway Court, Northvale, NJ 07647.
