MARY BRINKLEY'S/ARCS CONTACT INFORMATION IS IN THE BODY OF THIS SOLICITATION****** NASA/MSFC has a requirement for the renewal of seven (7) COMSOL Multiphysics Floating Network licenses, one (1) AC/DC Module, one RF Module,two (2) Cad Import Modules, one (1) MEMS Module, one (1) Structural Mechanics Module; five (5) Chemical Reaction Engineering Modules, one (1) Heat Transfer Module, one (1) Material Library, one (1) Microfluidics Module, one (1) Optimization Module, one (1) Acoustics Module, three (3) CFD Modules, five (5) LiveLink for Matlab, one (1) Particle Tracing Module, one (1) LiveLink for Pro/Engineer, and one (1) Batteries & Fuel Cells Module. The Government intends to purchase the services from COMSOL, Inc. on a sole source basis. COMSOL, Inc., is the only company that provides a specialized software package capable of analyzing coupled-physics problems involving structural dynamics, fluid dynamics, nonlinear stress, buckling and acoustics routinely required to be resolved in support of MSFC propulsion elements, special test equipment, ground support equipment and thermal control systems. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Mary.M.Brinkley@nasa.gov no later than 4:30 p.m. local time on May 9, 2013. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
