Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Orlando, FL (OVAMC) seeks to negotiate a contract to provide both onsite and offsite Optometry contract to provide comprehensive eye exams and Optometric services in the Orlando, Leesburg, Kissimmee, Daytona and Viera, FL Outpatient and Onsite Clinics. The contract is intended to compliment OVAMC corporate wide Optometry health care services. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has an ongoing program to furnish eye exams and eyeglasses to those veterans that require them and who are eligible for assistance. It is the VA's intention to solicit proposals on a competitive basis under RFP VA248-13-R-1365 in accordance with all terms, conditions, clauses, specifications and schedules of this solicitation. Award may result in multiple contracts. The VA anticipates awarding an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract(s) on a firmed fixed unit price basis from this solicitation for the Central Florida Veterans Health Care System. The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Parts 12 and 15. The awarded contract will contain a one (1) year base period and one (1) one year option period. The Option will be awarded at the discretion of the Government. Contract and Option year awards are subject to availability of funds. This solicitation is intended for use by the corporate Orlando VA Medical Center. Facilities requiring onsite services are: Orlando VA Medical Center, Viera Outpatient Clinic. Facilities requiring offsite services are: Viera Outpatient Clinic, Daytona Outpatient Clinic, Leesburg Outpatient Clinic and Kissimmee Outpatient Clinic. All work shall be performed at location in the State of Florida. The contractor shall furnish eye examinations and eyeglasses for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) veteran beneficiaries who require them and those who are eligible for assistance. Services for eye examinations and subsequent prescription eyeglasses shall be provided at the contractor's location (Offsite services). Services to provide prescription eyeglasses only shall be provided by the Contractor at the VA's location for Onsite services. Offsite contractors shall be located as specified in GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION OF OFF SITE PROVIDERS AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY, paragraph 15. The NAICS code for this procurement is 446130, Size standard 500 employees. This is a Synopsis of the Orlando VA eye examination and eyeglass requirement only. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Responses are Optional but not required. Any response to this Notice should include Name and address of company, Business size (large or small) identifying whether or not the firm falls into any of the following socioeconomic categories (i.e.) Veteran Owned, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Woman owned Businesses, etc.), and any other pertinent information which demonstrates the company's ability to meet the above requirements. The RFP is projected to be issued in June, 2013. NO AWARD will result from any response submitted to this Notice.
