- Description
- 1) Should fiber optic lighting be included in the base bid price with LED lighting as an alternate? If so, how should the alternate LED pricing be presented? Answer: Yes, include fiber optic lighting in base bid price. Show LED lighting as an option or alternate line item, separate from the total bid amount. 2) Are the security contact sensors or any other parts of the security system to be included in the exhibit case fabricator scope of work? Answer: Security equipment, sensors, etc will be provided and installed by LOC staff. It is expected that the Contractor will coordinate with LOC staff during the design and the fabrication phase, so that the case work design and structure can accommodate LOC security devices. 3) Should fabric be included for the case decks? Answer: Yes. Please refer to the Textiles paragraph under the Material Specifications and Testing section. Fabrics from Creation Baumann or Benchmark are examples of acceptable conservation-grade fabrics. 4). Section C.2. Glazing - Specification requires anti-reflective glass. Are you interested in receiving alternates and if so, how would you like them structured in the proposal? Answer: LOC would prefer not to receive alternate product suggestions, as it will be difficult to compare features and specifications to the glazing parameters provided in the SOW. 5) Section C.8. Lighting - 2 options are listed for pricing (LED &/or FO), each to include a motion sensor. If so, how would you like this formatted in the proposal? RE: General Proposal / Pricing Format Question - Generally speaking, there are a few options involved in the manufacture of these cases and each manufacturer may have recommendations on approach, assuming the supplied drawing is the preliminary design intent, how would you want this formatted on the proposal? Answer: Contractors can list pricing for each option (LED and Fiber Optic), and then show base price with each of the options listed, and a total amount per option. 6) Section C.9. Alarms - we will assume there may need to be provisions incorporated into the manufacture of the cases to support LOC supplied & installed alarm systems... is this correct? Answer: Yes. Security equipment, sensors, etc will be provided and installed by LOC staff. It is expected that the Contractor will coordinate with LOC staff during the design and the fabrication phase, so that the case work design and structure can accommodate LOC security devices.
