Description

This "Sources Sought" is to determine sources for a plasma blade and generator. The device should use high-frequency pulses of radiofrequency energy to induce electrical plasma along the edge of a thin (12.5 ?m), 99.5% insulated electrode. The device must include disposable cutting devices that allow for precision and bleeding control with minimal thermal tissue damage. Each disposable has a cord for energy and tubing built in for the suction. The hand piece should have a BUILT IN extendable shaft along with a BUILT IN suction to assist in pulling smoke away from the field allowing for a safer work environment for surgeon and staff. It should have multiple hand configuration options for surgeon gripping versatility. The device must not cut through gloves as to reduce sharp sticks to the staff. The device should have a touch screen to allow for quick and simple set up and setting range from 1-10 on both cut and coag ; if not better. This is not a request for bids, quotes, or proposals. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Interested parties submitting a response to this inquiry must include the following information: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify applicable socioeconomic categories and any pertinent information which demonstrates firms ability to meet the above requirement. All responses shall be submitted no later than May 15, 2013 at 2:00pm EST. Responses shall be emailed to: cleveland.wynne@va.gov
