Description

Limited Source Justification Sole Source gap task order for 180 day services of SMC Financial Support A&AS Services. The Infrared Systems Directorate (SMCIIS) is responsible for acquisition of the next generation early warning space and ground assets designed to meet the Missile Defense, Missile Warning, Technical Intelligence, Battlespace Characterization and Mid-Course Tracking mission. This system, known as SBIRS, will be a consolidated "systems of systems" satisfYing the United States infrared space surveillance needs through the next 2-3 decades. SMC/IS was the chosen baseline of an architecture study chartered by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Intelligence and Security, (DASD(I&S)) memo in June 1994 and conducted under the direction of then ASD/C31. SMC/IS selected one (1) contractor to perform the GEO/HEO High Component Engineering, Manufacturing & Development (EMD) phase contract in 1996. The Production phase will follow the EMD phase. SMC/IS Program Control Office has a continuing requirement for cost estimating and earned value analysis.
