- SYNOPSIS FOR USNS SAFEGUARD CATERPILLAR 20,000 HOUR DIESEL OVERHAUL This is not a solicitation or request for quote and no contract or purchase order will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. Military Sealift Command has a requirement for the USNS SAFEGUARD (T-ARS 50) for a OEM CATERPILLAR Technician to perform the service and provide the required parts for the 20,000 hour major overhaul for one (1) CATEPILLAR D399 TA Marine Diesel Engine (Serial #91B1477). The period of performance will be from 27 July through 14 August, 2013, at Subic Dock, Subic Bay, Philippines. The parts must arrive on the first day of the period of performance. Estimated issue date of this solicitation is on/about 31ST of May 2013. After issuance, the solicitation may be obtained thru Federal Business Opportunity (FBO) website or the MSC 1102 Website https://procurement.msc.navy.mil. Any firms that believe they can meet these requirements should respond. The Government has determined this will be a Small Business Set Aside. The appropriate NAICS Code is 333618. All companies shall ensure the appropriate NAICS Code is reflected in their Representations and Certifications section on www.sam.gov.
