- Description
- NASA/KSC has a requirement for one year membership to the consortium for High Performance Reconfigurable Computing (CHREC). NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from the University of Florida. CHREC is a national research center focused on high performance and reconfigurable computing and is comprised of 4 research sites, each a major university with a leading research group in this field. The major universities are: University of Florida, Brigham Young University, George Washington University, and Virginia Tech University. University of Florida is the leading university. The universities are coupled with approx. 30 leading organizations in the high performance and reconfigurable computing field from academic, industry, and government sectors that all have synergistic interests and goals in reconfigurable adaptive computing for broad range of missions from satellite and supercomputers The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on May 20, 2013. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
