- The Government intends to solicit and purchase a particular brand-name item. This documentation is covering only the portion of the acquisition which is brand-name. The procurement will be conducted on a brand name basis in accordance with the authority of FAR 13.106-1. The requirements are for the contractor to provide and install one (1) EA, Vivitek D963HD, multimedia projector, one (1) EA, Da-Lite screen 78 quote mark X 139 quote mark, one (1) EA, Extron DVI230 Rx, one (1) Extron DVI230T, two (2) EA, Chief Angled Ceiling Plate - CMA395, two (2) EA, Wall mounts, one (1) EA, CAT6 Plenum, 100 FT, and three (3) EA, DVI cables, 25 FT. The Vivitek D963HD multimedia projector will match the existing equipment which will allow the items to be viewed simultaneously. Also, the view will be skewed and the quality of service will not be efficient if the projector is different. There are two (2) EA, Chief Angled Ceiling Plate - CMA395 and two (2) EA, wall mounts needed that will fit specifically to the projectors and screen. If other mounts are ordered there is a chance that it will not fit the items that are already purchased for the install. The Da-Lite Screen will match the screen that is currently installed in the chapel. The Extron DVI230 Rx / Extron DVI230T, transmitting device will work with the items that the requiring activity has. The CAT6 Plenum, 100 Ft is long enough to extend across the chapel. The three (3) EA, DVI cables, 25ft will extend from the transmitters to the projectors and computers for accurate feed and information flow. The DVI wallplate will hold the DVI cables in place, and a single DVI wall plate is for providing remote access to a digital source or display. This plate provides a standard DVI cutout, and the plate is useful for connecting a DVI signal to a remote location. There is no other device / model carries the necessary specification and no other model can be accepted at this time because the projector and screen shall match the existing equipment. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334310 and the small business size standard is 750 employees. This brand name requirement will be procured under Other Than Full and Open Competition procedures and awarded and negotiated directly with the 8(a) contractor as 8(a) sole source for the full requirement under the PA cited in DFARS 219.800 and IAW DFARS PGI 219.808-1. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and a solicitation will not be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer not later than 14 MAY 2013, 1:30 pm EST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the 8(a) sole source negotiation with CommFed Solutions. Award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Item and FAR Part 19 Small Business Program.
