- The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office, on behalf of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Richmond is conducting market research through this Sources Sought notice to seek sources to provide all tools, material, labor and training for the installation of one Pre-Analytical Automated Microbiology High-Through Specimen Processor Brand Name or Equal to the BD Innova. Minimally, the processor shall provide the following characteristics: Compatible with PLMS Laboratory Information System, through direct connect or via middleware Data Innovations. As well as provide assistance with LIS interfacing of the instrument that allows for bi directional communication. For specimen identification, order, etc. The unit shall have state of the art Technical functions that allow for efficient and intuitive clinical usage. i.e. touch screen. Platform must allow for multiple types of specimens, i.e. Urines Stools, fluids, etc. Must be able to work with different type of manufacturer medium (plates). Must be able to do colony count, as well as perform quadrant streaking. Up to 9 nine different types of media plates and broths can be loaded at once, with a total capacity of up to 250 plates. Operates with both bi-plates and whole plates. Must work with facilities current specimen containers. Walk away systems that allows for batch specimen, greater than 100, containers and greater than 250 plates. The capability statements received from this market research are for planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research and the Government will not entertain questions concerning this market research. The Government will not assume any costs incurred by the contractor in the preparation of responds.
