- Solicitation Number: VA257-13-Q-1136 Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis: Added: May 15 2013 This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research relative to the North American Classification System (NAICS) Code 621512 with a size standard of $14.0 Million. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS), Dallas, TX, is seeking potential sources from health care providers capable of providing Mobile Lithotripsy Services, Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) equipment and related technical support laser technicians or RNs at the VANTHCS, Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm for an estimated 25 patients per week. The VANTHCS estimates that there will be an average of twenty-five (25) patients per regularly scheduled visit but may be as low as 1 or as high as 25. The contractor shall provide technical and licensed personnel trained and certified in EWSL and operation of the device to VANTHCS Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM. All Lithotripsy specialists shall be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. All Contractor personnel shall have unrestricted licenses in a US state, territory or Commonwealth of the US or District of Columbia. The Technician or RN shall assist the attending Urologist and other physicians in the operation of the device. The technician or RN is required to operate the device and any related imaging equipment during procedures. The Contractor shall provide a mobile, portable state of the art, digital unit that can be easily moved from place to place into the operating room at the VANTHCS. The VA requires at a The equipment must meet or exceed the following criteria: a. Treats all stones anywhere in the urinary tract b. Has a greater than 80% success rate based on FDA clinical study data c. Is modular and can treat patients in the operating room/cysto suite d. Has the ability to do endourological procedures before and after ESWL without moving the patient e.Will accommodate patients up to four hundred (400) pounds f.Emergency service provided with forty-eight (48) hours' notice.
