SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS Solicitation Number: Notice Type: SSA-RFI-13-1261 Sources Sought Classification Code: NAICS Code: J 811212 Synopsis: The Social Security Administration (SSA) is conducting a market survey/sources sought to help determine the availability and technical capability of qualified businesses to provide the Agency's requirement. This market survey/sources sought announcement is not a request for proposals, and the Government is not committed to issue a solicitation or award a contract pursuant to this announcement or based on responses to this announcement. The information from this market research is for planning purposes only, and will assist the Government in its acquisition strategy. As such, the Government will not entertain questions concerning this synopsis, and will not pay any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this market survey or the Government's use of the information. Proprietary information must be clearly identified. SSA has a requirement for preventive maintenance and repair services for Government Owned Canon Equipment at the SSA Records Center in Boyers, Pennsylvania and the Metro West Building in Baltimore, Maryland. See Attachment for specific model and serial numbers. The Agency's requirement includes the following: 1) Contractor shall provide preventive maintenance on all equipment two (2) times per year at six (6) month intervals. 2) Contractor shall respond to requests for remedial service within 16 business hours, during Principal Period of Maintenance (PPM) as follows: Monday through Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, excluding Federal holidays. Emergency Service is an 8 hour response time and standard service is 16 hour response time. 3) Contractor shall provide all parts (excluding expendable and/or consumable parts), labor, and travel for unlimited remedial service calls during the Period of Performance. 4) All technicians shall be Canon certified. All exchanged parts and components shall be new or perform the same as new parts and components. Service does not include the refinishing or replacement of external cosmetic parts, including chassis, housing, cabinets or cabinet parts. The Contractor must be able to clear personnel through SSA's Security and Suitability Office, within a 45-day time period. Interested firms with the capability of providing the Agency's requirement shall submit capability statements, referencing SSA-RFI-13-1261, that demonstrate their expertise in the above-described areas in sufficient detail, including any other specific and relevant information, so the Government can determine the firm's experience and capability to provide the requirements. Failure to demonstrate the capability of providing the requirement in response to this market survey may affect the Government's review of the industry's ability to perform or provide these requirements. Vendors responding shall indicate whether the products are available on their GSA Federal Supply Schedules. In addition to capability statements, firms must include this information in their responses: (1) organization name, address, email address, website address, and telephone number; (2) size and type of ownership and socioeconomic designation for the organization [i.e. small business, small disadvantaged business, 8(a), etc.]; 3) business experience; 4) GSA FSS contract number and SIN (if applicable). The Agency will not notify respondents of the results of the evaluation of the data received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA's assessment of products available on the market. No Faxed responses. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. No solicitation is being issued at this time.
