- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Station Support/Simplified Acquisition (SS/SA) Branch, on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order to Tucker-Davis Technologies, 11930 Research Circle, Alachua, FL, 32615-6826 for the purchase of Z-Series 8 DSP High Performance Processor and Z-Series 1-Port Data Steamer. The Z-Series 8 DSP High Performance Processor and Z-Series 1-Port Data Streamer will be used for auditory physiology experiment with 256 channels simultaneous recording of field potentials and/or extracelluer single units from multiple auditory cortical areas. Delivery is 8-10 weeks and to Bethesda, Maryland. Tucker-Davis Technologies is the industry standard in auditory neurosciences and is compatible with existing equipment. Tucker-Davis Technologies is the only company that provides these functions and upgrades for NIMH system. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 12 procedures and is exempt from the requirement of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
