- Description
- DESCRIPTION OF INTENT: PM MRAP is conducting a sources sought market survey to identify commercial and non-developmental components for use in future Capability Set network architecture for the MRAP family of vehicles. The intent is to identify additional potential sources for a managed Gigabit Ethernet switch. The US Army MRAP Capability Set FY13 utilized the Red Lion (formerly Sixnet) ET-8MG-MIL-1 managed Gigabit Ethernet switch. It is expected that future Capability Sets will require performance equivalent to this item in accordance with FAR 11.104, Use of brand name or equal purchase descriptions. PM MRAP appreciates your time and effort taken to respond to this survey. DISCLAIMER: No contract will be awarded from this announcement. This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, nor is it a request seeking participants to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. Response to this survey is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey and any follow-on information requests. Data submitted in response to this market survey will not be returned. RESPONSES DUE: Responses are requested no later than 20 calendar days after announcement post. Please mark your information quote mark Proprietary quote mark as you feel appropriate. RESPONSE FORMAT: Only electronic responses are accepted. Please provide responses below the question in any of the following formats: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, or Adobe PDF. Format the subject line of the response email as follows; quote mark [Company Name] response to ETHERNET SWITCHES SOURCES SOUGHT SURVEY quote mark. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: The MRAP Ethernet Switch Unit is a rugged, high performance unit which provides Ethernet signal routing from multiple Ethernet input ports to multiple Ethernet output ports. It is capable of supporting Ethernet operations at 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and Gigabit rates in accordance with IEEE 802.3-2005. It is capable of being configured for both managed and unmanaged network operation. Component interfaces to external hardware and software must be non-proprietary. The Ethernet Switch shall have maximum dimensions of 11 quote mark length x 6 quote mark width x 3 quote mark height, and maximum weight of 4.5 pounds. The Ethernet Switch shall utilize MIL-DTL-38999 Series III connectors, Ethernet port connectors shall be 23 size socket (female) contacts (9-9 with N-keying), and there shall be at least 8 Ethernet ports. The Ethernet Switch shall support both RS-232 and USB2 ports in connector type 22D socket female contacts (9-35) with A-keying. The Ethernet Switch shall comply with Ethernet standards defined in IEEE 802.3-2005 for 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 1000 Mbps (Gigabit) operation. External LED indicators that display Ethernet channel use shall be provided. The Ethernet Switch networking features shall provide Auto-detecting, auto-crossover, and auto-polarity, provide store forward wire speed switching, provide support for up to 8192 MAC addresses, provide Full-Duplex operation with flow control (no collisions), be true plug-and-play capable (not require user setup), support memory bandwidth of not less than 32 gigabits/second. The Ethernet Switch shall not store any of the network traffic data internally after power shut down, thereby inherently meeting the requirements of NSA/CSS Manual 9-12, NSA/CSS STORAGE DEVICE DECLASSIFICATION. The Ethernet Switch shall be powered by 28 VDC, incorporate line-to-case isolation, include reverse polarity protection and minimize EMI effects. The Ethernet Switch shall be subject to environmental testing in accordance with MIL-STD-810F. Describe the temperature, humidity, elevation, shock, vibration, noise, salt fog, dust, fungus, steam and water jet, explosive atmosphere and immersion capabilities of your switch. The Ethernet Switch shall have a mean time between failures of not less than 100,000 hours. Describe the MTBF of your switch. PLEASE CLINK ON --ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION-- TO ACCESS THE SURVEY:
